Spicy's Comments: Tawraste has made some guidelines that could be used on various scenarios with various plague types. All you really need to do here is to adapt to the given scenario and change-up the strategy as needed. Thanks to Tawraste for making a guide like this!

Hi Spicy, I recently read about your progress being a bit hampered by life etc, so i thought I'd chuck in what I've had success with over the last few weeks.
You have no idea how busy I've been for the past month. Thanks for submitting your guide!

This is now my favourite approach, it has worked laughably well for Golden Age, Mirror Earth and Pirate Plague for 3 mega brutal biohazards.

Of course there are minor variations (such as the start, save & load glitch for pirate plague which does work on Android too; using the free symptoms such as insomnia and paranoia to slow cure research for the nano-

virus, Patho-stasis for fungus, etc) but on the whole this is my one size seems to fit all approach.

By Pirate plague glitch, he means starting the game then quitting and saving, then loading that game again. Apparently, loading a saved Pirate Plague game makes Ships operate normally.

OK,
Genetic Code:

  • ATP Boost
  • Native Biome
  • Sympto-stasis - Patho-stasis for fungus
  • Genetic Mimic
  • Xerophile.

Before selecting a country, mutate:
  • Rash
  • Sweating
  • Cysts

Then select Egypt

Then mutate:
  • Abscesses
And in no particular order:
  • Anaemia
  • Haemophilia
  • Skin Lesions

Then:
  • Hyper sensitivity

The idea here is to get that all important profuse bleeding combo.

Next, mutate:
  • Blood 1
  • Drug resistance 1
  • Water 1
  • Air 1
  • Drug 2
  • Cold 1
  • Cold 2
  • Water 2
  • Blood 2
  • Air 2
  • Extreme bioaerosol

Then go for the other bonus infectivities, so:
  • coughing
  • sneezing
  • pneumonia
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • pulmonary oedema
  • diarrhoea

Now its time for maximum infectivity combined with some lethality so:
  • Necrosis
  • Dysentery

then wait for greenland and then:
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis
  • Total organ failure
  • Hemorrhagic shock

I tend to keep an eye on the infection progression of Greenland here and add in the following transmissions if needed:
  • Livestock 1
  • Rat 1

Then just top off with Paralysis and Coma to reduce the cure rate, with reshuffles as necessary and then finally every other lethal symptom.

This works for 80% of the time. In fact, I've been chomping through the scenarios usually winning them first time. I'm not sure if this works for all the other scenarios, but I'm certainly going to try it.

As previously mentioned, minor variations are required. I think if you've played a lot of this game these situations are easily spotted. I don't think it's possible to have a genuine one size fits all approach at mega brutal difficulty, and for those who find that the guides don't work for them, well, they need to play around with it a bit.

Anyway, hope this helps you out. If it works as well for you as it does for me on Android you'll have a shed load more guides ticked off.

Enjoy!

Tawraste
