Plague Inc. Shouldn't Keep Pets Achievement Guide

blogger
Kill all apes. Plain and simple. The "shouldn't keep pets" achievement simply wants you to kill every single ape on the planet. All 644,462 of them, shouldn't be too hard.

There's already a submitted guide for this achievement. Be sure to check it out as well

Because of the "Did I mean to do that" achievement, this achievement becomes very easy to unlock. Simply put, all you have to do is make every single ape on the planet intelligent, then devolve Simian Neuro-genesis, doing so will cause the apes' brains to shut down, killing all of them.

In order to that easily, I have made a guide to make things easier for you guys. So, let's get started.

Difficulty: Casual
Genes:

  • ATP Boost
  • Teracyte
  • Ion Surge
  • Together Strong
  • Extremophile

First off, Start in the USA

To make things easier for ourselves, devolve every single symptom that mutates. This'll make our lives easier and make our simian flu harder to detect.

Evolve Simian Neuro-Genesis shortly after gaining the needed DNA, followed by Ape Colonies. Then establish a colony on your starting country.

Before we start moving apes around to infect others, evolve the following in this order:
  • Social Cohesion
  • Cognitive Shift
  • Education
  • Organised Travel
  • Logistics
  • Horseback Riding
  • Seafaring

After evolving the necessary abilities, switch to Ape-view and wait for Mexico to turn green. As long as it's green, it means the country has intelligent apes. From Mexico, send apes to these countries:
  • Greenland
  • Iceland
  • UK
  • Madagascar
  • New Zealand
  • New Guinea
  • Philippines
  • Japan

Once every ape group you sent has reached their respective countries, establish an ape colony in these countries:
  • West Africa
  • Central Africa
  • East Africa
  • Sudan
  • India
  • China
  • Indonesia
These colonies will provide the much needed DNA we'll need for devolving and evolving transmissions and abilities.

Evolve the following in this order:
  • Primal Awareness
  • War Paint
  • Covert Expertise
  • Ape Rampage
  • Primal Hunt
  • Weapon Creation
  • Inter-genus dissemination 1 & 2
  • Sebaceous Excretion
  • Blood Gift
  • Cutaneous Transfer
  • Submissive Conception
  • Excrement
Evolving these abilities and transmissions will not only help speed things up, but will also help you unlock a number of Ape combo achievements.

After evolving the abilities above, continue by evolving the following:
  • Ape Migration
  • Scouts
  • Path Finders

At this stage of the game, we're waiting until every single ape on the planet is made intelligent by our Simian Flu. To check, click on the World Tab while on Ape view. The Black heart icon on a blue square will show how many apes are still uninfected.

You can also click on the countries on the world menu to check which ones still have unintelligent apes in them. Just send your smart ape squad to that country and they'll educate them.

Once you have every single ape infected.(Your Ape-View World menu should look like this)
If you have dead apes, don't worry, they already count towards the achievement. What you want is to have that heart icon to zero. This merciless achievement wants every single ape dead.

All 644,462 apes on the planet are now intelligent. Now we kill them. How? We devolve Simian Neuro-genesis. Immediately after devolving it, a pop-up will appear saying the apes' brains have shut down. There's also an achievement for this if you haven't gotten it yet--two birds, one stone, I guess.

So there you have it, all apes dead, achievement unlocked, are you happy with what you've done? Apes are now extinct, because of you, you monster.
Screenshot above shows all apes dead, and achievement unlocking.

Thanks for reading this guide, and I hope it helped you get the "Shouldn't Keep Pets" achievement. Happy Spicy Gaming, Ape-slayer!

  2. Yeah, sorry I wasn't too clear about that. Glad you got it, though.

They died for a cause, a good cause, an achievement.

  3. You can't move to all the countries from Mexico - it only lets you move from Mexico once.
