Plague Inc. Created Equal: Virus Mega-Brutal(3 Biohazard) Guide

Although Virus does have the tendency to cause a lot of unwanted things to happen because of its innate ability to cause more mutations, the strategy we'll be using doesn't really care too much for the random mutations. They'd actually do more good than lower your chances of success.

Here are some thoughts and some other stuff that I think you guys should know upon using this guide.

  1. Random events such as Awareness days, Watch-list placement, and threat level increases will significantly increase the rate of the cure progression and also cause the earlier shutdown of harbors and ports.
  2. Be prepared to change the strategy as you see fit. Every game is different and I cannot account for all the random things that could happen in each game.
  3. It's completely fine to ignore the mutations that happen, but in some cases a lethal symptom might evolve and it might be better to devolve it right away. The first devolve will cost 3 DNA which really isn't a lot of DNA to spend.
  4. Be patient and remember that it's just a game, there's nothing wrong with trying again.

Here are some screenshots of the final stats I had using this strategy. The first two were taken before a solid strategy was put together.

This guide has been tested multiple times on Plague Inc. for iOS. The success of this guide in other platforms is uncertain because it has not been tested anywhere else.

Gene Setup:
  • ATP Boost - 8 DNA at the start of the game. Very good gene in any game, in my opinion
  • Aquacyte - Island countries, especially Greenland, will always be a problem. Giving a minor boost in Ship transmissions will become very handy
  • Genetic Mimic - Slow down the cure.
  • Sympto-Stasis - Costs for the evolution of symptoms will never increase, very useful since this strategy relies heavily on symptoms for infection rate boost.
  • Xerophile - we'll be starting in a country with Arid climate, it'll provide a slight boost in infection that will be very beneficial in the early stages of the game.

1.) Before selecting a country to start in, evolve the following symptoms:

  • Nausea
  • Coughing
  • Cysts

2.) Start in Saudi Arabia, then continue to evolve the following in this order:
  • Sneezing
  • Pneumonia
  • Rash
  • Sweating
It's completely up to you whether you want to devolve a mutated symptom, or not. My advice is, devolve only once and only on a lethal symptom. Continue evolving the following:
  • Air 1 & 2
  • Water 1 & 2
  • Drug Resistance 1
  • Cold Resistance 1
  • Drug Resistance 2
  • Cold Resistance 2
  • Genetic Hardening 1 & 2
  • Extreme Bioaerosol
By now, your plague should have been detected--maybe even put on the watch-list.

3.) Before continuing, check your Infection Spread Summary(World-Data) and make sure that islands countries, specifically Greenland, Caribbean, and New Zealand aren't in the healthy countries list. Having Greenland infected should be enough, but to be safe make sure that the other two are infected as well--other countries don't matter.

Once those pesky island countries are infected, evolve the following(skip the ones that are already mutated.)
  • Skin Lesions
  • Necrosis
  • Hyper Sensitivity
  • Pulmonary Oedema
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Insomnia
  • Paranoia
  • Seizures
  • Insanity
  • Paralysis
  • Coma
  • Total Organ Failure
The symptoms above will make infection spread fast, slow the cure, and be lethal enough to kill at a decent rate. At this point, use the DNA to evolve lethal symptoms such as:
  • Hemorrhagic Shock
  • Internal Haemorrhaging
  • Tumours
  • Systemic Infection
  • Dysentery
Remaining DNA should be used to evolve Genetic Re-Shuffles.

That's it! Thanks for reading this guide and I hope it has helped you get those 3 golden biohazards for Virus in the Created Equal scenario. Try to experiment with the guide to get a much higher score than I did!

Credits, Closing Statements, and some other random stuff

Thanks to tawraste(sorry if it's spelled wrong, connection won't cooperate and I'm too lazy to wait for it) for sharing the changes he made to the Created Equal: Bacteria guide to work for virus as well! Couldn't have done this guide faster if it wasn't for you! Thank you!

Onto random stuff, I'll be completing this scenario on every plague type I possibly can, including Simian Flu. Simian Flu, on scenarios, is quite impossible right now without luck on mutations. I've only been able to get 3 biohazards on it on Unknown Origins and Created Equal, and I wasn't able to replicate those victories ever again. Basically, what I did was use the apes as the primary transmission for the plague and let symptoms be the main source for infection. I think you also need to start killing really early to negate the effects of Genetic Shifts and Simian Flu's innate ability to increase DNA costs of ape-related abilities. I completely ignored Gen-Sys labs and just let them do their thing, hoping they won't get past 70% cure before I finish. I'll discuss more about this on the next released guide.

Anyways, Thanks for using this guide and if you guys have any tips or other strategies regarding this scenario, comment them below or send your own guide to us via our submit section--you could also email them to us if you want to include images! HSG!
