The Bio-Weapon plague type has to be my favorite plague. Its unique ability, Unlock Annihilation Gene, maxes out the plague's lethality, combine this with the most lethal symptoms and the world won't even know what hit them.
Like any other plague, Bio-Weapon has a unique trait that distinguishes it from other plague types. This trait is its constant increase in lethality overtime. Its lethality could easily reach high levels if not countered by evolving unique abilities that stop the uncontrollable bursts of lethality.
Guides posted here will work on a normal non-scenario game of Bio-Weapon since you are able to select your starting country.
Spicy's Strategy
Unlock Annihilation Gene is my favorite unique ability, but with this strategy I won't even use it--I wanted to, but I can't seem to formulate a strategy that finishes within 365 days by using it. Instead, I'll be relying on Bio-Weapon's unique trait combined with lethal symptoms to provide the necessary lethality needed at the late stages of the game. We will be making no efforts to slow down to increase of lethality over time.
Because we're relying on the constant increase of lethality, there is a chance that countries will close their borders and point-of-entries earlier than usual. That being said, this strategy does not have a 100% chance of working every single game.
I have tested this strategy multiple times on a normal game, here are the most recent stats I had along with the stats I had when I used this strategy in the Unknown Origin scenario.
The reason why only one country is listed, is because I was really unlucky over several tries to get a good country. I was started in India once, but that game failed because Greenland remained uninfected--must be because Sweden or Russia closed their ports super early.
Recommended Gene Setup:
- ATP Boost
- Aquacyte
- Sympto-Stasis
- Genetic Mimic
- Extremophile
1.) Wait for your pre-selected country. If you're using this guide for a normal game, select India as your starting country.
2.) Pop the first red bubble, then evolve the following:
- Coughing
- Cysts
- Rashes
- Abscesses
- Coughing
- Sweating
- Skin Lesions
3.) If any lethal symptoms mutate devolve them immediately, you can let tier 1 symptoms(e.g nausea, vomiting, hyper sensitivity) mutate to help make infection faster. Continue by evolving the following in this order:
- Water 1
- Bird 1
- Water 2
- Bird 2
- Cold Resistance 1
- Drug Resistance 1
- Cold Resistance 2
- Necrosis
- Drug Resistance 2
4.) If you ever plan to experiment with this strategy, the best part to change--in my opinion--is the one above. At this point, we're aiming to make our bio-weapon much more infectious while gaining lethality at the same time. Evolve the following to do just that::
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Anaemia
- Haemophilia
- Diarrhoea
- Pneumonia
- Pulmonary Oedema
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Hyper Sensitivity
Simply put, evolve every tier 1 symptoms and some 2nd tier symptoms that increase infectivity more than being lethal. Now we're going to focus on slowing down the cure, evolve the following:
- Insomnia
- Paranoia
- Seizures
- Insanity
- Paralysis
- Coma
- Genetic Hardening 1 & 2
5.) At this point, we're going to need to wait for the complete infection of the world(No one healthy pop-up). Once the pop-up appears, immediately evolve the following:
- Total Organ Failure
- Hemorrhagic Shock
- Internal Haemorrhaging
- Tumours
- Systemic Infection
Remaining DNA should be used to evolve as many Genetic Re-Shuffles as possible.
All that's left now is to wait for the end of the world. Know also that several factors affect the success of this strategy, such as being placed on the watch list too early, and your plague's threat level being increased.
Thanks for reading this guide and I hope it has helped you get those 3 biohazards for Bio-Weapon in the Unknown Origins scenario.
