Not Just a Pretty Face Achievement Guide by Ariel Aguayo
This achievement is actually not very hard at all. I got it on my first try with no trouble, as the cure wasn't even close.
Pick Viral Affinity and Latent Catalyst if you have them.(These are genes, just to clear that up.)
The country to start in doesn't matter too much, but China or USA should be good. To get this achievement, evolve Simian Neuro-genesis first, then all the transmissions with a green background(Ape transmissions), starting with Homindae Bridge. Next begin evolving all the ape travel abilities so that you may move your apes to get every ape in other countries, as well as some combat abilities to destroy any labs that come up so that cure research doesn't become a problem.
You can use travel to hop from Asia to the islands in the Pacific, from Europe to Greenland to the Americas, etc. Set the view to the ape population since you're not worried about human infections (though you will end up spreading to every country anyway). The goal is to be able to tap on any country's info and have the first number (uninfected apes) equal zero. With all the ape transmissions, countries' apes will be fully infected almost immediately! Once every country has zero uninfected apes, the achievement is yours!

Any guide to the "Film Fanatic" achievement coming soon?
ReplyDeleteI used this guide, started in China. I followed it, only deviating to devolve major lethal mutations. I got "Not Just A Pretty Face" and "Film Fanatic" in the same game! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know how to get it. If I come across it, I'll immediately note what I had evolved and submit it!
ReplyDeleteHow you obtain exactly "Film fanatic"?
ReplyDeleteOK! So! I've been researching it every day, but there isn't much info. However, Ndemic posted to the Steam forums saying that they will be updating the achievement (at least on the Steam version)? very soon. There is also a hypothesis on that forum that if you get the cure to 100% but already killed almost every human, that they accept apes as their equals even though the cure is done, and that this could be related to the achievement. The other posts about it being unlocked by getting the Planet of the Apes pop up are NOT the achievement, as that pop-up is the normal one for this plague type. http://steamcommunity.com/app/246620/discussions/0/43099721663759378/#p2
ReplyDeleteWorking on IOS, but no film fanatic achievement or even the pop up.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I found this about the Simian Flu on a fictional website set up for the film: Speed of symptoms can differ, but generally 48 hours after infection a person will experience severe headache, sore throat, weakness, fever, joint pain. After 96 hours the symptoms include nausea, vomiting, red eyes, raised rash, chest pain and cough. After 7 days symptoms escalate quickly to stomach pain, gastrointestinal distress, internal and external bleeding, severe weight loss and bleeding from nose, mouth and eyes. I will try these symptoms to get closer to scenario of the film. Feel free to try them too.
ReplyDeleteTo get the film fanatic achievement, I think we have to start in US.
ReplyDeleteAnyone got anywhere with the film fanatic achievement? I've been trying to recreate the events in the film and i've just noticed that it says "recreate the setting"...
ReplyDeleteI've been getting a lot of questions regarding this achievement. I've already unlocked it, but I have no idea how. I'd try to recreate it if anyone could provide some screenshots of Pop-ups, or news headlines, connected with the achievement.
