Plague Inc. Virus Mega-Brutal Guide & Strategy | Mutation 10 | 5 Biohazards

blogger
The current mega-brutal guide for Virus seems to be working pretty well, but I thought why not make a mutation 10 guide as well? This new strategy is faster than the old one, and is what I intend to use on my speed run trials.

This strategy completely ignores the random mutations that pop-up in Virus games. Instead of worrying about the constant show-ups of unwanted symptoms, we'll just let them be and keep going for the things we want. Some mutations could be beneficial, some could be down right dumb, and some times some mutations cause the game to fail...hard.

That being said, there will be games where the mutations will cause your inevitable defeat, but don't fret, just try again. This strategy's pretty simple and fast, not much waiting, just evolving stuff whenever possible.

Just so I could prove that this strategy doesn't completely rely on luck, I did at least 10 games with it and only managed to lose 2. I lose those games because lethal symptom mutations happened and caused the "watch list placement" pop-up which then caused Greenland and Caribbean to close their ports early. Always managed to finish within 300+ days, though, so I think this strategy's pretty solid.

I also recommend you guys to play around with this strategy and make it better for your play style. Always be prepared to make the necessary changes as your game progresses, several stuff happens that I can't really account for in this guide, so...yeah.

So, without further random things to say, let's get to it.

RECOMMENDED GENE SETUP:

  • ATP Boost
  • Aerocyte
  • Sympto-Stasis
  • Genetic Mimic
  • Extremophile
If you've been following the recent guides I've made leading up to this one, you might notice that I like using ATP Boost a lot. Well, that's because I value the early DNA points. It let's me have the choice to be a little bit more infectious at the start with symptoms, or be able to quickly transmit with transmissions--this statement makes no sense.

TIP: If the listed symptom has already mutated, then skip it. I really should not have to say this.

1.) Start in Saudi Arabia. Right after popping the first red bubble, evolve the following in this order:
  • Coughing
  • Sneezing
  • Cysts
  • Abscesses
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Rash
  • Sweating
Early symptoms will provide a decent amount of infectivity which will make things faster. Again, as stated above, do not worry about the random mutations, just let them happen.

2.) Continue by evolving the following:
  • Air 1
  • Water 1
  • Air 2
  • Drug Resistance 1
  • Cold Resistance 1 & 2
Saudi Arabia connects to rich and cold countries which is why we should put an early point in drug resistance and max out cold. Being able to quickly infect Russia, Sweden, and Finland will also help in infecting Greenland earlier--One of these countries' ports connects to Greenland.

3.) And now, a lot of evolving, follow this order:
  • Pneumonia
  • Pulmonary Oedema
  • Diarrhoea
  • Water 2
  • Skin Lesions
  • Necrosis
  • Extreme Bioaerosol
  • Drug Resistance 2
  • Paralysis
  • Coma
  • Total Organ Failure
  • Insomnia
  • Paranoia
  • Seizures
  • Insanity
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis
  • Dysentery
After evolving all these, the world should not be plunging into chaos, but some countries are still in the process of being completely infected.

4.) This part could really be improved, so try to experiment with it. What I do after evolving Dysentery is boost my Resistances to be able to infect faster. At this point, here's what I usually go with.
  • Heat Resistance 1 & 2
  • Environmental Hardening
  • Hemorrhagic Shock
Having environmental hardening will make for faster infection rates, especially if the random mutations cause a lot of lethal symptoms to appear.

After Hemorrhagic Shock, you could either go for more lethality with Internal Haemorrhaging and Systemic Infection, or take some progression off the cure with Genetic Re-Shuffles. It's your call really, I tried both paths and both seem to work pretty well.

5.) Rejoice at the annihilation of a virtual world with virtual families who have done nothing to you, you monster.

Here's some screenshots of the scores I had using this strategy:

So there you guys have it. Thanks for reading and I hope this guide has helped you get a 5 biohazard score or finish Virus in mega-brutal difficulty.

HAPPY SPICY GAMING!

  6. Virus is definetely my favorite plague type, but i recommend darwinist instead of genetic mimic, as its easier to get and better in my opinion, and to get the virus ability 1 & 2 while you're evolving air 1 and air 2, and to get the ability to level 3 when you're getting pneumonia.
